Deep Tissue/Sports Massage

TAKE YOUR GAME TO THE NEXT LEVEL
Whether you're a weekend warrior or compete in tri-atholons, massage can help you enhance your game-time performance.

HOW WILL MASSAGE HELP ME?

When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. A deep tissue/sports massage gets to the heart of the problem, working intensely on the muscles and connective tissues to loosen toxins and get blood and oxygen circulating properly.

deep tissue/sports massage:
     - improves range of motions and flexibility
     - shortens recovery time between workouts/games
     - reduces the chance of injury and swelling
     - enhances performance
     - promotes better sleep

WILL DEEP TISSUE/SPORTS MASSAGE HURT?
A therapeutic massage session shouldn’t hurt. However, at certain points during there may be some tenderness, especially when breaking down scar tissue.  It’s important to tell me when soreness occurs so I can adjust the session for maximum benefit.

After deep tissue/sports massage there may be some stiffness, but it should subside within a day or so. It’s important to drink plenty of water, apply ice to affected areas and to use anti-inflammatories after the session, if needed, to rid the body of lactic acid build-up. A soak in an arnica or epsom salt bath is also recommended.

HOW FAST WILL I SEE RESULTS?

It's important to be realistic about what can be achieved in a single session. Many people ask for more pressure thinking if the therapist just pushes hard enough, they’ll get rid of all their "knots" in one session. This won’t happen. Undoing chronic “knots” and built-up tension is achieved with exercise, proper posture/body mechanics, relaxation and regular massages.
